Addictions staff addicted to Dommemoir

By I.G. Frederick, October 13, 2009 1:05 am

The Salem launch of Dommemoir was hosted by Addictions Body Piercing & Tattoo because owner Emily Cahal was an invaluable resource when I was researching the body mod scenes in Dommemoir.

Of course, she had to have her own, autographed copy. She didn’t take it home, right away, however. I heard from one of the staff on Saturday who had started reading Emily’s copy of Dommemoir and wanted to know if she could please buy one of her own? On Monday, I stopped by to oblige only to learn that another staffer also had read the first three chapters of Emily’s copy and also wanted to purchase her own copy.

Thinking there might be other visitors at Addictions Body Piercing & Tattoo who might enjoy reading Dommemoir , Emily has acquired a few copies to sell to customers, friends, and lovers of erotica.

So if you’re in Salem and would like to purchase a signed copy of Dommemoir, stop by Addictions Body Piercing & Tattoo at 176 Liberty St. SE.

Thanks to all

Yesterday evening, the wonderful staff at Addictions Body Piercing & Tattoo in downtown Salem hosted the local launch of Dommemoir.

With the sound of the tattoo needle buzzing in the background, I read selections from Dommemoir and poems from Pain of Love, and autographed books.

Thanks to all who came and helped celebrate!

The local alternative paper in Salem interviewed me for an article about the event at Addictions next week. You can read the story online at WillametteLive.

We’re still tinkering with my website, so check there frequently to see some of the improvements we’re making weekly. I also post bits of news from the front page here and to LiveJournal, so if you want the latest information, subscribing to the RSS feed (in the top right hand corner) or at LiveJournal is your best bet.

I was honored to appear as featured author on the world premier edition of the Inkwell radio show earlier today. If you missed it, you can listen to the archives and the poster is on my pictures page. Host Nyla Alisia asked great questions of all three guests including Cecilia Tan and Paul Beidler. Dedicated to helping writers move forward in their craft and achieve success, The Inkwell is an entertaining AND informative radio program. The interviews on the subject of "So you write erotica, now what …" were so interesting, the show ran an extra half hour.

Such Fun

We had great fun at my Seattle launch of Dommemoir. I had some delightful people attend my workshop. They asked great questions and were very attentive.

My publisher, Paul Beidler of Fanny Press, brought the most wonderful cake from The Erotic Bakery for the festivities after the workshop. It had the name of the book on the side and a bound marzipan cock and balls on top. I took great pleasure in biting the head off the cock — usually I don’t get to bite all the way through.

I’ve put up some photos of the cake on my website. (And no, that’s not me threatening to bite it off)

While the cake slowly disappeared, I read erotic passages from all three of my books, Dommemoir, Broken, and Shattered as well as a couple of poems from my limited-edition chapbook Pain of Love.

Thanks to all who came and helped celebrate.

By I.G. Frederick, September 18, 2009 2:52 pm

This weekend (today through Sunday), I’ll host the weekly Circlet Press Author Chat on LiveJournal. I’ll share some thoughts about changes in the publishing industry, rights issues, platform, author compensation, etc.

I would very much appreciate it if you would join me there and participate in the conversation. I’d love to see your comments on what I’ve written and would be happy to answer any questions. Stop Circlet Press Author Chat any time during the weekend.

I’m also sponsoring a poetry contest. Anyone who would like to submit an erotic poem will be eligible to win a free, autographed copy of my erotic poetry collection Pain of Love. The prize will be given to the poem I like the best. (As in all literary contests, the results are completely subjective. I reserve the right to award more than one prize.)

To enter, post a poem of 25 lines or less in the comments section for Erotic Poetry Contest. Both traditional and free verse are welcome. One entry per person. Deadline is noon PDT Sunday. Prizes announced at end of my day Sunday.

Dommemoir Released!

By admin, August 30, 2009 2:16 pm

dommemoir_front thumbThe aptly titled Dommemoir by I.G. Frederick delivers on so many levels that it defies categorization.  One has to begin with the eroticism of it all, but it quickly sucks you in and envelopes you in the bondage of its spell, which is of course the best eroticism of all.  Unlike so many works of erotica, Dommemoir is a character study that breathes complex and compelling life into its hero, the devastating Lady Genevieve and the fortunate submissives who worship at her feet.  One rarely reads such a book unless one is already immersed in the culture and context of the scene, which makes this reading experience even more intense with possibilities.  But even if you’re not there yet, you will be after Dommemoir has infected your psyche, placing you in the delicious bondage of its dark and compelling landscape of a very different flavor of love.  But love, nonetheless.  — Larry Brooks, USA Today bestselling author
